3 Ways To Save On Summer Travel

by

Summer is almost upon us. Well, actual summer isn’t for another month but once kids are out of school it’s definitely summer!  If you don’t already have plans, but are thinking maybe you’ll head out of town for a short get away you can still take advantage of saving opportunities.

Here are 3 easy ways to save:

1.  Southwest Airlines Ding! – While the economy is seeing some rebound, there are still many travel deals to be found.  If you plan on flying and Southwest Airlines services your home town you should definitely download their DING! saving tool.  Every day you’ll get a special envelope with savings to destinations you might be interested in visiting.  It’s a great way to save, especially if you’re thinking you may want to get away.

2.  Hotel Savings – Another way to save is to check out the various hotel websites in the area you’re thinking of visiting and see what summer deals they are running.  Often they will have discounted rates listed right on their site. You can check out reviews at Trip Advisor to find out what recent guests say about the hotel.

3. Restaurant Savings – Whether you’re staying home or heading out of town, check out Restaurant.com to find savings on your favorite places to eat.  Often when going to a new location you’re not sure where to eat.  By looking over the restaurants available at Restaurant.com you can get an ideal of what they offer AND get savings on places you’ll be eating.

Even if you’re not planning on going away, and will be enjoying a summer at home you can definitely take advantage of the Restaurant.com savings or even check your local resorts for specials to enjoy a weekend treat.

What other ways do you save on Summer Travel?

I just figured out Hotwire, so you can know what hotel you are booking. I love that you can save so much with them.
