365 Project Day 18 The Birdcage

Project 365 Day 18 The Birdcage

Yes, it’s a vintage birdcage. No, I don’t own a bird and never have. About 10 years ago I went to an auction with a friend and this was there. I think I got it for about 5 bucks. I just think it looks so beautiful.

So here’s where my desire to take a better photo comes in. It seems a bit yellow. I’ve opened the aperture all the way, and I’m on ISP800. Tried at ISO1600 but I couldn’t keep it in focus. Yes, I delayed and instead of taking it during the day with natural light I waited until it was dark so I know I’m kind of stuck with what I have. I do have special CFLs that are broad spectrum daylight lights, but they’re not real daylight. Any suggestions? Besides, don’t cut off the bottom.

I love the birdcage! And I’m bad about yellow photos, too. I’m proud of you for playing with your camera!
I just bought a lightscoop for my camera. I’ll let you know if it helps with the indoor photos 🙂

I once gave a birdcage as a gift. It was antique-looking, but i actually bought it at bombay company. i think they’re cool!

Have you tried a flash with a diffuser? How about a tripod? Indoor shooting is hard, especially at night. Keep up the good work!!
