I’m not a big pizza eater. I have to watch my wheat intake. Also, as a Weight Watchers lifetime member that points system is still swirling in my head. But when I do want pizza, I don’t want just anything.
When Freschetta first came out I was excited because I like that idea of making it at home. It was one of the first pizza to come in a variety besides the same frozen pizza standbys. And when I went to Blissdom and had the opportunity to meet with their chef and brand team I learned a lot more about why it is I love this brand. Fresh ingredients, thoughtfully prepared – sauteed onions, balsamic drizzle, actual white-meat chicken.
BabyGirl doesn’t like pizza. Actually, she doesn’t like ‘normal pizza’, as she puts it. And because it’s often just the two of us I’m not going to make a huge pizza when she decides she wants pizza. Enter Freschetta By the Slice! Perfectly sized for a single serving, it comes in a special microwave container to help crisp up the pizza.
We were at the store last weekend and saw these. Having received a coupon from Freschetta, as part of their blogger outreach program, I figured we should try it. And, of course, the coupon was at home! I picked up two packages – the BBQ Chicken and the Chicken, Spinach and Mushroom.
BabyGirl made it by herself and was having lunch while I chatted with my mother in law. As a connoisseur of BBQ Chicken pizza, BabyGirl gave it a thumbs up! She said there was just enough BBQ sauce to cover every bite (as a parent you know how important that it!) and the chicken was soft (again, kids and texture!). Ours did not have bell peppers on it, as depicted in the photo. That’s fine with us because she would have picked them off anyway.
It has a special tray and goes right in the microwave. Two rounds of 90-seconds and a moment to cool off and she was ready to go! I cut up some fruit for her she was excited to try something new. As a sometimes treat, this would be great for us. As a quick snack for kids coming home from school, it would be terrific. If you have kids who might not want the same things, this is a great problem-solver. Paired with a salad and some fruit, it would even work as a quick lunch at the office. Priced at about $2.50 ea (your market may vary), having these on hand wouldn’t break the bank. And for a limited time, you can try it for free. Inside the box (printed on the box) is a mail-in rebate. It is a limit of two, so keep that in mind if you’re interested.
So why do you care? Because you’ll get to really Try It For Free! Freschetta has offered one of my readers coupons for their new By The Slice pizza AND a cute set of 3 storage containers.
