Helping Others – Tikun Olam Part 2

by

Earlier in the week I mentioned that BabyGirl’s religious school class is participating in an Adopt A Family program. As part of it, we decided to make a Prepare and Care Kit because cold and flu is upon us and we felt it would be a good way to help a mom out.

I’ve been working on a great campaign with Collective Bias to promote a new Pedialyte product. The new product is called Pedialyte Singles. You probably know Pedialyte in the big liter bottles, or maybe in the single serve bottles. The big bottles get opened and then need to be used within 48 hours. That sounds good, but what usually happens is that you don’t use it up and have to throw it away.

The new Pedialyte Singles are juice box-type design just the right size for little hands. The liquid is mom-friendly and clear! I know that the mom in our Adopt A Family will appreciate that. And the kids should like the new kid-approved flavors – Apple, Cherry and Fruit flavor. We’ll be sure to let the mom know that she needs to consult with her doctor before using the Pedialyte.

These Pedialyte Singles are certified Kosher and Halal. While I don’t keep Kosher, I have many friends who do so it’s nice they can use it too. Also, since the Adopt A Family program is through our synagogue it’s important to me that everything in our Prepare & Care kit meet Jewish dietary laws.

We’re making a kit so that the mom will have a few things on hand to help if one of her kids gets sick. With a cold or flu, dehydration is often a side effect. Pedialyte is the #1 pediatrician recommended brand of electrolyte replacement so I feel confident giving this product away in a care package.

We’re going to include tissues and wipes as well as some soup and a few toys. BabyGirl has picked out a box of crackers from the pantry and I’m going to put in a few household supplies too so the mom can clean up quickly.

If you want to see all the goodies we’re putting in our Prepare and Care Kit, check out my Whrrl story.

If you’d like to make your own Survival Kit or make one for someone else, Pedialyte is offering a coupon for $1.50 off your purchase of any Pedialyte. I think you’ll love the new Pedialyte Singles though. So, don’t wait until the kids are sick, make a list and be prepared. It will give you peace of mind.
