Johnson & Johnson Voluntary Recall On Certain OTC Medications

by

Johnson Johnson

URGENT: Johnson & Johnson, on Friday 1/15/10, issued a very extensive recall of many over the counter (OTC) medications, including certain Tylenol, Motrin, Simply Sleep, Benadryl, Rolaids and St. Joseph products.  These products include both adult and children-strength medications.  Johnson & Johnson has stated that the recall is due to reports of a moldy, musty, mildewy odor often followed by gastrointestinal issues.  NOTE:  This recall does NOT include any liquid products!

For a complete listing of products, go HERE. The list is very extensive.  I suggest you get all your products out and have them in front of you when going to this site.  You can enter the lot number and it will search for you rather than having to scroll down pages and pages of information.  I know many of you, like me, have quite a stockpile of the possibly affected medications.  I urge you to take the time to check each one.

If you have any items with the associated lot codes you should stop using the product immediately and contact McNeil Consumer Healthcare for further directions on how to obtain a refund or replacement.   Information regarding how to return or dispose of the product, go to www.mcneilproductrecall.com or call 1-888-222-6036 (Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Eastern Time, and Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Eastern Time).  You should contact your doctor immediately if you have medical concerns or questions relating to prior usage of the affected product(s).
