Key Ingredient Recipe Tablet

by

Disclosure: I was provided a Key Ingredient Tablet to facilitate my review.

Recipe Tablet

Despite my love of technology and my multiple devices, when I cook or bake I always print out the recipe. Total waste of paper and toner, I know. But here’s the thing. Sometimes things get messy and there is no way I’m going to risk my precious iPhone 6+, Samsung Note 4, Droid Ultra, iPad, (you get the picture). Would you? I’m pretty sure, no. And while my friend Christi at Love from the Oven often uses her Samsung Galaxy S5 when cooking and baking, she’s a pro. I’m not.

Asked if I wanted to try out the Key Ingredient recipe tablet, I said yes in hopes that maybe I can give up the need to print out recipes. And while I’m not there yet after a few weeks, I’m definitely moving in that direction. Even better, BabyGirl has been looking through all the recipes and is talking about trying something on her own. What a great way to get the kids in the kitchen to help! If you’re using your everyday device, you may be less likely to encourage the kids to help.

Key Ingredient Wipes CleanI love this feature! If I use my table I’ll slide it into a zip top bag to help keep it clean. It’s workable but not perfect. The Key Ingredient recipe tablet is made for kitchen use so spatters, splashes, and spills aren’t going to send you into a panic.

Key Ingredient Entertainment

I like this feature because I’m not a fan of kitchen uni-taskers. If it were just a digital recipe file, I’d probably pass. But it’s a multi-function tablet designed specifically for the kitchen. And for about $150, that’s a great price on a tablet!

Key Ingredient Text to Speech

For most recipes, you don’t really need someone telling you what to do. But, I’ve found that this was a very helpful feature as I had the mixer going and was cleaning up at the same time but wanted to know the next few steps. This would be a terrific feature for an aging parent who might need to take glasses on and off to transition between reading the recipe and doing the prep. Great for kids, too, who might be more inclined to learn how to bake or cook if they didn’t have to keep going back to read the recipe.

Key Ingredient Tablet Features

If I were to design a table just for the kitchen it would have these features. I want a place to keep my recipes, instead of printing them out (multiple times because I often get the paper dirty or wet). I need a timer that’s not tied to my microwave or my phone. Don’t want to use my phone and, I’m sure a few of you can relate, it seems like I always need to use the microwave when the timer is in use and I mess it up.

The tablet can be used in the vertical or horizontal position so whatever is best for you there is that option. It’s an Android device and can connect to the internet via Wi-Fi so you can still access your favorite cooking and baking blogs, too! Like Love From The Oven!

For about $150, I think the Key Ingredient  Recipe Tablet would be a great gift. If you’re still thinking about it, maybe a $65-off coupon code will make the decision easier. Simply shop now and enter saving65 at checkout!

I think this might be most handy for a multiple ingredient baking project like a ganache cake (I always have to double check tbsp vs tsp – it makes a big difference!)

If I win, the first thing I’ll make is Pad Thai…. I’ve been thinking about it, now I want to make it!

I was gifted a set of Indian spices , but the recipes are too complicated to remember. With a digital device , a 15 ingredient curry will not be a problem.
