My Little Pony Interactive Storybook – Twilight Sparkle: Teacher for a Day

by

Having worked with Ruckus Media in the past, I was excited to get a message asking if BabyGirl would like to try out the new My Little Pony app. If you’ve been reading for awhile you have some insight as to my daughter’s love of My Little Pony, including the BabyGirl’s Ponies Go To BlogHer episode.

This time, Hasbro and Ruckus Media Group have teamed up for the release of a new interactive storybook app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. My Little Pony: Twilight Sparkle, Teacher for a Day is 3 formats in 1, offering Read to Me, Read the Book and a Read and Record options.

As a MY LITTLE PONY lover, BabyGirl eagerly downloaded and jumped right in. The Story puts the familiar Ponies such as Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, as well as Rarity and Spike the Dragon and other Ponyville friends in a magical journey to learn about the history of Equestria, the Kingdom of Princess Celestia. Story-driven activities guide Twilight Sparkle and Spike through the story of Equestria to the finale of the Grand Galloping Gala.

Some of the features are:

  • Move the adventure forward with narrative-driven activities that include mazes and “spot the difference” that teach word recognition, picture/word association and basic problem solving skills
  • Finish your adventure with the exciting customize-your-own-story activity
  • Touch-driven animations within the story add additional interactivity
  • “Meet the Ponies” feature explores the background of each of the story’s characters
  • Children can read the story aloud, and—for the ultimate personalized reading experience—record and playback their voice
  • “Read to Me” option: Listen as Twilight Sparkle reads aloud to your child
  • Words illuminate as they are pronounced for basic word recognition

If you have a MLP-lover in your household, this is a terrific way to keep them entertained, engaged, and for new readers offer an opportunity to practice their reading skills. Now only $0.99 to download from iTunes for iPad, iPod Touch, and iPhone.
