It’s finally here! Whole Foods Market is having a one day sale on ORGANIC Honeycrisp apples. TODAY ONLY, ORGANIC Honeycrisp apples will be just $1.49 a pound, which is a 50% savings. I’ve heard a lot about these apples and many of my friends on Twitter were excited that these will be on sale. I’m very excited to try these and I’ll be heading out to get some before all the good ones are gone. And since this is about as close as we’ll be to doing ‘apple picking’ I’m taking BabyGirl and we’re going to pretend it’s a field trip.

From what I’ve read, Honeycrisps have are sweet and have a crisp juicy texture.  And Wall Street Journal named the Honeycrisp “The New Apples of Farmers’ Eyes,” and the Boston Globe touts it as a “…everyone’s new favorite.”, so they must be something special! They’re said to be similar in texture to an Asian Pear.  And, Honeycrisps are also great for slow roasting, dumpling baking, cider brewing, caramel dipping and more. Here are a few Honeycrisp recipes from the Whole Foods website.

Heads Up: Just got word that some Whole Foods Markets will have these super fandango apples for less than the advertised $1.49/lb. The Paradise Valley (AZ) store will have them for $0.99 lb!
