Ultimate Blog Party – Hi! My Name is

Ultimate Blog Party 2010

Welcome to visitors, guest, friend, Romans, Countrymen as well as my Ultimate Blog Party friends! This is my first UBP (I got the lingo down, because I’m hip like that. NOT!) and I’m very excited to be part of what appears to be the most fabulous and, dare I say, ultimate, blog party on this entire planet. As part of this first post, I’m here to introduce myself. This is a bit weird because I’m relatively cryptic with my online-ness. But, let’s start with my name. Yes, I have one. Let’s see, I’ll tell you 10 things about me, how’s that?

Ten Things About Me That Every UBP’er Wants (or maybe not) To Know

1. Hi! My Name is Sara. There is no H on my first name because my last name began with an H. My mom thought it was weird having too many of the same letters in a row. Really, I don’t blame her. Although, growing up with a biblical name that was not spelled ‘correctly’ meant I did not get those cool name pencils or personalized keychain souvenirs.

2. You may have guessed, I have an ‘odd’ sense of humor. It doesn’t come out too much in my blog but lately I’ve been being silly on Twitter with some of my friends and I can’t seem to control my silliness.

3. I started my blog on January 1, 2010 because I needed to start my blog ‘someday’. I picked this name Saving For Someday because I have a list of things I want to do and they all begin ‘Someday I’m going to…’ and then usually end with ‘when I have enough money’.

4. My blog is about, well, saving. But not in the sense of all you’ll get are coupons and deals. There are bloggers out there that do it well and I’m not here to reinvent the wheel. My blog is about finding everyday ways to change habits so that I can encourage other to start living their dreams. Stop wishing. Start doing.

5. I’m a 40 year old gal, married to my college sweetheart, CycleGuy – 16 years in about 6 weeks!, mom to 1 precocious BabyGirl. I don’t use their real names because they didn’t sign up for this blogging gig and I’m also freaked out by stalkers because CycleGuy got me hooked on CSI and Criminal Minds.

6. In real life I’m a full-time homeschooling mom, who is also a part-time lawyer, teacher of Suzuki Violin to my one very demanding student (let’s call her …. BabyGirl), volunteer, friend, sister and grand-daughter.

7. I attended my first blogging conference in February when I enjoyed a phenomenal weekend in Nashville at the Blissdom ’10 extravaganza!

8. I’m going to my second blogging conference – Bloggy Boot Camp – in May.

9. My grandma is still alive (she’ll be 90 this year), but both my parents and my grandpa have passed away.

10. The three prizes I’d like to win are: #17, #13 and #8 although I’d take anything because even if I can’t use it I’m sure I’ll find someone who would enjoy it.

Thank you for visiting! Please leave a comment so I know you stopped by and if you have a blog let me know so I can visit you as well.

Have a fabulous day and be kind to yourself and others!  Thank you 5 Minutes For Mom for hosting such a lovely affair!

Stopping by from UBP…I love finding 40something bloggers…we are few and far between it seems! I’m also a (recovering) lawyer with a very precocious little girl (and a very sweet boy as well).

I’ll be following!

Michelle April 9, 2010 at 2:18 pm

My kids aren’t going to get those cool gifts either because their names aren’t common. It’s the way the name trend is going though. I came by from the UBP, and will look around more. Stop by FTSN for a slice of peanut butter pie when you have a chance!

Hi there! Just popping in for the party! I am your newest follower on Twitter.

I also just started my blog, Kristie’s List in January. I post mostly freebies and deals, without all the junk, so I bet you’d enjoy it!
I’m number 149 on the party linky.

I also could never get name pencils as a kid, with my name spelled as it is!

Ashley April 10, 2010 at 4:15 pm

I think a blogging conference would be fun!

Marsha Seiberling April 10, 2010 at 4:35 pm

Popping in with the ultimate blog party…nice to meet you
I always want to save for something (right now it’s to get me and my daughter out of this house and into one of our own!)
However, there isn’t ever any left to save, so I am working harder at getting the word out about what I do online and in hopes of earning more.

Susan S April 10, 2010 at 9:17 pm

I had to stop watching CSI because it didn’t help my anxiety too much, and I don’t use my child’s name because of the same fear of creepy people.

I have a weird sense of humor as well.

artsy_momma April 10, 2010 at 10:06 pm
