Walgreens Haul photo

It’s been awhile since I’ve ventured out to do some mega shopping. But I headed out to Walgreens late Sunday morning, hoping there was still product on the shelves, to get in on some of the deals.

I got a few things that were not on on my list but were on sale. That photo is my haul! Here’s how it breaks down for my Walgreens Deals. The prices shown are the full retail that rang up. Then the discounts/coupons are below.

5 – Charmin Basic Bath Tissue $4.29
10 – Gillette Men’s Body Wash $4.99
5 – Gillette Fusion Power Razors $12.99
5 – Fruity Pebble Single Cups $1.00
2 – Old Spice Deodorant $2.99
2 – Old Spice Body Wash $4.99
3 – Golden Oreos $1.99
3 – Fig Newtons $1.99
6 – Ritz Crackers $1.99
= $181.14
– (5) BOGO Gillette Body Wash ($24.95)
– (2) Buy 1 Old Spice Deodorant Get 1 Free Body Wash ($9.98)
– (10) $2.00 in-ad coupon for Gillette Body Wash ($20.00)
– (2) $2.00 in-ad coupon for Old Spice Body Wash ($4.00)
– (12) $1.00 in-ad coupon for Nabisco crackers/cookies ($12.00)
– (5) $3.10 reduction on Gillette Fusion Razors ($15.50)
– (5) $4.00/1 Gillette Fusion Razors ($20.00)
– (5) $0.35 off Fruity Pebbles clearance ($1.75)
– (5) $0.25/1 Charmin ($1.25)
– (2) $1/1 Old Spice Deodorant from PG Everyday Savings Book ($2.00)
– (3) $1.30 in-ad coupon for charmin ($6.50)
= $66.39 Subtotal
– $26.98 in Register Rewards – $25 from the Gillette Razors and $1.98 I had from prior week
= $39.41 before tax out of pocket

AVG price = $0.96 per item!

So why so much out of pocket? The percentage saving overall was about 78% which may not seem all that extreme. However, the razors have a lower savings. My savings on the razors was right around 70%, and I used the Register Rewards from buying the 5 razors to pay for the other things which gave me an approximate 91% savings on that transaction.

I could have lowered my out of pocket by not buying as many of the Nabisco products and leaving out the Fruity Pebbles. And had I gone to get my newspapers ahead of time I could have used the $1/2 Nabisco from Smart Source to save a few extra dollars. But we eat these and they’ll tide us over for quit some time. So for the overall value, I’d say it was a pretty good.

So, tell me what YOU saved this week!

Sara
